Mick Mulkerrin was born to Irish parents and reared just outside of Glasgow, Scotland. He learned his first sean nos steps at the age of 10. Mick started teaching sets in 1987 with Seamus O Mealoid, and the pair offered workshops in Ireland for about five years. Mick now teaches a weekly set dance class in Ballyboghill, North County Dublin, and travels to North America three or four times every year to dance and teach. He also teaches dancing at the annual Aarhus Festival in Denmark, and frequently appears in Germany and Norway. He is one of the most highly regarded teachers of set dancing, and his expertise is much in demand on both sides of the Atlantic.
