The Tutor:

Eilís Lavelle, from County Monaghan, is a recognised exponent of the Irish harp and is in great demand as a performer and teacher. Eilís is currently studying for a PhD at Queen’s University Belfast, focusing on eighteenth-century manuscripts collected by Edward Bunting.

Eilís has been playing the harp for many years and has been fortunate to have performed around the world at various festivals, giving concerts, workshops and masterclasses. Eilís has gained much experience collaborating and performing with musicians from a wide range of genres. Broadcasts include TG4, BBC Television and Radio, RTÉ, and most recently recorded a documentary Beart Bunting with Dearcán media which was aired in late 2022.

The Workshop:

This harp workshop is open to intermediate level players over the age of 12 years. Eilís will teach music from the Edward Bunting collection and the the Oriel region where she is from.
