The Event:

Tunes and craic with the tutors and students of BelfastTrad who are joined by our two guest musicians, Tola Custy and John Kelly who have travelled from Co. Clare for a range of events with us this weekend.

The Guests:

Tola Custy, fiddle player and composer from County Clare, has sought to create a sound of his own whilst remaining sympathetic to the subtle nuances in music that isn’t of his own making! He has played with and loved making music with far too many to mention here but in this special, not-to-be-missed workshop you can expect to learn some happy and some sad tunes, depending on your mood with one of the leading fiddle players in the country!

John Kelly hails from Roscommon Town, an area steeped in the tradition of flute playing. Traditional Music took a very central part in John's life from a very young age and soon he had won All Ireland honours in every underage category.  In 1995, John moved to Ennis, Co. Clare and quickly became an integral part of the town’s thriving traditional music scene performing with musicians such as Siobhan Peoples, Murty Ryan and Cyril O’Donoghue.
