Belfast Song Gathering: A two-Day Celebration of Ulster Song


The Irish Traditional Music Archive and An Droichead are presenting a weekend celebrating the Ulster song tradition. BelfastTrad will be hosting one of the singing sessions during the weekend and we invite all traditional singers to come along. Here are the events:

OPEN SINGING SESSIONS
Friday February 17th, 9:00pm An Droichead
Open singing session hosted by the Belfast Singing Circle.  Free

Saturday. February 18th, 4:30-7:00 The Sunflower Public House
Open Singing session hosted by BelfastTrad. Free

ULSTER SONG COLLECTIONS: WHO HAS WHAT?
Saturday, February 18th 1:30-3:30pm Linenhall Library
Presentations about major collections of Ulster Song from: Conor Caldwell–Irish Song Project, John Moulden, Louisa Costelloe–Special Collections, QUB, Grace Toland–Irish Traditional Music Archive. Free

BELFAST SONG GATHERING CONCERT
Saturday, February 18th 8:00pm Ulster Museum
Featuring Landless, Cathal O'Neill, Doiminic Mac Giolla Bhríde, Maurice Leyden & Jane Cassidy, and Helen Diamond.  £10
